PLEUROTOID GILLED MUSHROOMS

I have listed several different mushroom species below that are morphologically ‘roughly' reminiscent of oyster mushrooms. All grow from dead sticks, branches or logs. Some kinds will have a short stipe and other species will be directly attached to the wood. Few of these listed are closely related to each other despite appearing vaguely similar morphologically. In other word, the term ‘“pleurotoid” is an artificial category.
