Tremella foliacea consists of brown leaf-like gelatinous stemless lobes that emerge from decaying hardwood and coniferous branches. Can be found in late summer, fall and winter especially following rain. Believed to feed on mycelium and possibly the fruiting bodies of crust fungi, particularly species of Stereum. Cosmopolitan distribution in temperate regions of the world.
