Rhodocollybia maculata is a decomposer of conifer wood and debris. Whitish cap with rusty-brown spots; white flesh, very crowded attached and rust-spotted gills; white stipe bruising reddish-brown. Pink spore print. Bitter tasting. This mushroom appears in late summer and in autumn under conifers. “Maculata” means “spotted".
