Pluteus salacinus_2049

Pluteus americanus (Pluteus salacinus} grows from dead hardwoods. Except for some scaliness in the center of the gray-brown cap, this mushroom's cap skin is glabrous. As with all Pluetus species, it has free gills (not attached to stem) and a pinkish-brown spore-print. It is also psychoactive - bluing on the stem and elsewhere. It has a unpleasant odor.
