Coltricia cinnamomea has a shiny, thin, leathery, round and zoned brownish-rust to brownish-yellow cap with a paler growing margin and a central stipe. The hymenium is brownish and the spore print is yellowish-brown. Like Coltricia perennis, it grows from the soil along compacted woodland trails. It is mycorrhizal with hardwoods. Annual. The word “cinnamomea” means “cinnamon colored”.
