Marasmius strictipes (Collybia strictipes) (Peck) Singer

grows singly, in small groups or sometimes clustered as in this photo. Its cap is pale yellow-tan and with aging occasionally shows some pale orange-tan streaking from the central disc outward. As it matures, the cap becomes flat and then upturned at the margin. As its species name indicates, it has a straight stipe, typically white. It is found in hardwood forests in summer and fall. A saprotroph, it decomposes leaf litter. It is in the Marasmiaceae family of the Agaricales order.
