Rhodocollybia lentinoides (Gymnopus lentinoides) (Peck) Halling, (4 Photos and Description)

Rhodocollybia lentinoides is rather easy to confuse with Gymnopus dryophilus (Collybia dryophila) and Rhodocollybia butyracea. The cap and stem colors are similar, but the gills of Rhodocollybia lentinoides are saw-toothed and the stem is slightly club-shapped and has a tendency to split (see last photo). Like Rhodocollybia butyracea, it grows with conifers.
