Brown rotter of conifer wood .  This pretty annual can be found on dead conifer wood and on conifer lumber. Zonate and irregularly shaped cap and gills are initially shades of rusty-orange, but as the fruit body matures the cap becomes dark brown from the point of attachment outward. The margin typically remains orange. The tough maze-like to gill-like pores become paler.
