Plicaturopsis crispa (Pers.) D.A. Reid 1964
This pretty little fungus is a favorite of mine with its pleated or crimped ‘gills’. This decomposer is quite common on decaying branches of broad-leaved trees throughout the year, but is most noticeable in autumn in winter. It grows in overlapping tiers with the fertile serface pointing downwards. Plicaturopsis crispa is in the Amycorticiaceae family of the Amycorticiales order of the Basidiomycota. Inedible.
