CREPIDOTACEAE family

Various species of Crepidotus look superficially like young oyster mushrooms which also grow from decaying wood and are often misidentified as such. They are comparatively small, rather gelatinous beneath the cap skin, have a brown rather than a white or lavender spore print and are of questionable edibility.
