Agaricus campestris ‘Meadow or Field Mushroom'
cap with fine darker scales. Gills are initially white, become pink and finally brown. White stem bears a large partial ring. Mushroom bruises reddish. Found in lawns. Taste is comparable to the cultivated grocery-store mushroom, Agaricus bisporus. While edible, avoid eating specimens growing in lawns treated with pesticides or fertilizers.
