Amanita farinosa is one of the more beautiful and fragile amanitas. It is relatively small in stature having a gray cap with deep striations, and is covered in cottony grayish-brown powdery tissue from the universal veil. The stipe is white and ends in a small bulbous base, which is sometimes enveloped in gray-brown material from the universal veil.
