Lactarius subvellereus  (Lactarius subvellereus)

Large white-buff dry, velutinous, convex cap becoming vase-shaped. Crowded to close narrow white to cream gills. Stem is white, dry, short and firm. White spore print. Voluminous white latex discolors flesh tan to red-brownish. Can be found in summer and fall with hardwoods. Bitterly acrid taste. Inedible.
