This pale orange-capped Albatrellus is mychorrhizal with conifers. It tends to grow in groups from the ground. The pores are white and like other species of Albatrellus are decurrent. White spore print. Flesh of fresh specimens is soft. Has clamp connections. KOH reaction is purple. Edible. It is in the Albatrellaceae family of the Russulales.
