Rhodocollybia maculata var. scorzonerea (Batsch) Lennox 1979
This mushroom looks like Rhodocollybia maculata, except that it tends to be more yellow than white or off-white and it is smaller. Like Rhodocollybia maculata it bears rust-reddish spots and markings throughout, has close, narrow gills and is a degrader of dead conifer debris. It is in the Marasmiaceae family of the Agaricales order.
